Upcoming events (4+)
See all- The Bronx Museum & LunchThe Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx, NY
On Saturday, October 14th at 12:30PM, join us for a meetup at the Bronx Museum!
The Bronx Museum is focused on 20th Century and Contemporary American Artworks. The current exhibition surrounding Brooklyn artist Michael Richard is titled “MICHAEL RICHARDS: ARE YOU DOWN?”
From the Bronx Museum Website: “...Richards’s work engaging Blackness, flight, diaspora, spirituality, police brutality, and monuments remains timely and resonant decades after its creation.”
We will meet at the museum at 12:30pm, do our normal introductions, then walk through the museum together. After finishing our walk through at around 2:30, for those who are hungry and would like to continue socializing, we will grab lunch in the area!
You do not need to reserve a ticket for this event, visiting the Bronx Museum is free!

Our events are for Autistic adults (18+) (diagnosed or self-diagnosed) and are not open to any neurotypical (not Autistic) people. If you’re the parent/family/support worker of an Autistic person and need to attend as an interpreter/aide, please send an email or private meetup message to the organizer prior to attending any events. - info@autisticadultsnyc.org
Not open - Virtual Meetup: Get Stuff Done ClubLink visible for attendees
Need some support cleaning your apartment, doing chores, or organizing your space? Have some work you really need to get done?
On Sunday, October 15th at 2:00PM, join us for a virtual body doubling event!
Many of us struggle with initiating/completing a task that may be uninteresting to us, such as cleaning our room/home. Body Doubling - or having a partner do a task alongside us, can help tremendously!
We will start with our introductions, ask what folks are working on today, then spend the rest of the meetup getting stuff done together! And participants are welcome to ask cleaning/work/spoon management questions during the meetup, or just socialize while cleaning!
Webcam welcome but not required!

- Collaborative Art WorkshopPier 57, New York, NY
On Friday, Oct 20th at 12:00PM, please join us for a Collaborative Art Workshop!
This workshop is for artists of all levels - from beginners, to experts, to “I’m not really an artist but I like trying new stuff.” :)
Attendees will be split up into groups, provided large art boards, mess safe art supplies, and guided by our hosts to create an art piece together with fellow members. All materials will be provided. This is a casual, low stress event. The goal of this workshop is to get our creative juices flowing, socialize, and create something unique as a community!
After the workshop, attendees are welcome to grab lunch from the Pier 57 Market and bring it back to the classroom to eat. (And please feel free to bring a bagged lunch instead if you prefer.)
HOW TO FIND US:
We will be meeting in the Daffodil Classroom. A map of how to find the classroom, and a map of all the available food stalls can be found here.

- Disability Pride NYC ParadeMadison Square Park, New York, NY
Sunday, Oct 22nd is the 2023 Disability Pride NYC Parade - Join us as we walk together as a group to celebrate disability pride and represent the Autistic community!
From the Disability Pride NYC Organizers:
“The parade's route begins at Madison Square Park and proceeds down Broadway to Union Square Park where participants can gather together and celebrate Disability Pride!
This year’s parade theme is “Disability Pride Means: Nothing About Us Without Us!,” which highlights DPPNYC’s commitment to the full inclusion of people with disabilities. A ceremony is planned to honor Mary Pinotti Kaessinger and Judy Heumann, pioneers in the disability community.”
More information about our meeting location and a more comprehensive event schedule will be provided closer to the event.
Full disclosure - This is a parade event, and there is a good possibility that it will be crowded and possibly overstimulating at times. I am waiting to hear more from the organizers about accessibility for us Autistics and other folks with sensory issues. I will update the page and send attendees a message when I receive more information!
This is a public event - Friends and family are welcome (and encouraged!) to come and walk along side us. RSVP’ing through this group page is just for Autistic members of our group however - please direct friends, family, and other non-group-members to the organization's registration form.
